Espresso Group Ltd., a group of companies specialising in developing and delivering video-based content and learning platforms to the education market, announced today that it has been ranked 47 in the eighth annual Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table. This is the third year in a row that Espresso has been on the Tech Track 100, an exceptional accomplishment that demonstrates continued, sustainable growth since 2003 when it was first placed on the list.
Tech Track 100 (www.fasttrack.co.uk) ranks Britain's fastest-growing private technology companies based on sales growth between July 2004 and July 2007, a period during which the Espresso Group’s annual sales growth topped 63%, from £2.75m to £11.9m. By July 2007, Espresso was successfully delivering its weekly updating content service to over 9,000 schools. The increased turnover was due in part to contributions generated by Netmedia Education (acquired February 2006) and Channel 4 Learning (acquired March 2007) as well as success in international markets, such as Sweden.
Today the Espresso Group consists of three subsidiary businesses: Espresso Education (including Channel 4 Learning), Netmedia Education, and Education Media Delivery. The continuing development and expansion of Espresso has ensured that potential and existing customers have access to a unique, innovative ‘end-to-end’ educational solution, from video-rich content for primary and secondary schools to learning platforms and content delivery technologies. Its international business opportunities are anticipated to fuel even further growth next year.
Espresso was ranked 80 on Tech Track 100’s list in 2006 and ranked 69 in 2007.
Espresso Group’s Managing Director, Richard McGrath, said, “We are delighted to be in Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 for a third year running. As a business that can only flourish if its customers renew their subscriptions, this accolade reflects the commitment that our company has to its customers and the quality of services that we provide. With an ever-increasing number of subscribers and high retention rates, it is clear that our customers agree that the team here are doing a great job.”
