Espresso Education has enjoyed its busiest and most successful BETT show.
Besides being honoured with two BETT Awards, the Espresso team was thrilled at the enthusiasm and interest shown by the many hundreds of visitors to Stand B82.
Secretary of State for Education Charles Clarke visiting the Espresso Education stand at BETT 2004
Well over 1,000 visitors watched Espresso demonstrations and presentations. Among the visitors was the Secretary of State for Education, The Rt Hon Charles Clarke MP who had a personal demonstration of the Espresso Primary service from CEO Lewis Bronze.
Reaction to the Espresso stand was very positive, both from visitors and from the Espresso team who manned it. Harley Richardson, our Senior Producer (Multimedia), recorded some comments about his stints on the stand:
Here's a few things that will stick in my mind from this year's BETT:
The teacher who walked past the stand as I was giving a demo, stopped me, said "We bought Espresso last year and it's the best thing we've ever spent our money on!", and then walked off.
The stand being absolutely thronged with visitors. People perching on the opposite stand in order to watch the presentations. Richie C weaving his way through the crowds with handfuls of CD ROMs and water bottles.
People coming to the stand having heard great things about Espresso. First time visitors getting the concept of Espresso straight away. 'Difficult' / sceptical visitors being won over immediately.
Seeing how impressed people were with all the new content from the last year.
Dick Cooper, ICT Inspector for Wandsworth, saying how impressed he was with the speed and courtesy with which Customer Relations deal with calls.
The teachers who chanted "We love Espresso!" at the top of their voices during a presentation.
The bases falling off the BETT awards within 5 minutes of us receiving them.
And just seeing how much we've come on since our (slightly ramshackle) earlier days at BETT.
Espresso looks forward to welcoming visitors to its stand at BETT 2005!
